I haven’t hashed out a full definition of what professional success looks like BUT…
The definition of professional success must include: finding a set and series of problems you don’t wish away.
So then…the follow up is…
Do you need a new set of problems or a new outlook on the problems you already have?

New Hum Love playlist up on Spotify and Apple Music
I’ve never stood around a jukebox with my friends listening to music.
But I have shown up with my friends to listen to our mix tapes off the radio, then the cases of CD’s, then burned cds off Napster, then iPods.
And now we share tracks and playlists.
Making a new playlist each month is fun because you have to have new music for it each month, so you pay more attention to new music. And click around more. And listen more. And have more good stuff to share.
If you have any good stuff you wanna send my way, please do. I’d love to listen. Maybe I’ll add it next time around.
***Also, if you’ve missed any of the previous months or need a refresher on a track, there’s a Hum Love Archive on Spotify and Apple Music too.

Presence is developed, not fixed.
Anything you can fix is technique (and there’s no problem with fixing).
But presence is the long, deep, difficult part.
***Your old wise grandparents weren’t always like that.

Preparing well doesn’t mean it’s not going to be difficult.
It just means you’re more likely to get the desired result once the difficulty is over.

There’s usually a lull.
After the holidays
Or when you get home off the road
Or the car ride home after the party
The lull is worth recognizing.
The time spent with people while sharing the lull is real currency. It matters who you share the lulls of life with.
The lull is easy to miss. It’s easy to wish it away.
But the lull is sweet and rich. Don’t rush it.
