What Time Do You Open?
You get to pick. But whatever time you post on the door we expect you to be fully open. Not a limited menu. Not partially attentive. Not just half the vibe.
Whatever it’s like when we walk in, we assume that’s the way it always is…so for whatever way you want to known, it starts from the time you open.
This Way To The Beach
I make a left out of the driveway to get to the beach.
But a couple things…
-Just because I turn left doesn’t mean I’m committed to the beach.
-Making a left out of my driveway is the first turn to many other places too.
We tend to define our path by what we think the destination is…but we often fail to realize that just because we’ve made the first turn or two toward one destination, those same turns can lead us to a different place just as fulfilling.
Maybe the path is more aptly defined by the type of deviations, variations and pit stops that are likely go along with it.
Long Term Process
When we don’t get the desired result it’s easy to think ‘what did I do wrong’.
On the other hand, when we do get the desired result it’s easy to think ‘I just need to keep doing exactly that’.
But here’s the thing…
sometimes you make a half-court shot blindfolded.
and
sometimes the table is off balance even though you followed the Wayfair instructions.
Focus on building a process that will take you where you want to go long term.
The Muddy Message
The interesting thing about the muddy message is that the clear message is in there somewhere…it’s just covered in mud.
In which case, it’s more about getting rid of the mud than it is about dreaming up what the message might be.

If the rooftop bar is covered maybe it’s not really the rooftop bar.
If they stopped doing the seat belt demo on airplanes how long would it take for someone to ask how it works?
Everyone who cuts me off in traffic looks exactly like the type of person who would do that.
We know who our doctor friends are…no need to preface.
Cleaning the soap dispenser is one of the great ironies of the world.
A reputation of being late is a tough one to turn around and it doesn’t happen by getting better at having more convincing reasons.
