People Sitting Around A Table

There are people sitting around a table today who are thankful for you.

Thankful to know you, thankful that you are in their life. They know you’re not perfect, but your presence, the way you listen, talk, laugh, work, celebrate and connect is something that reveals life’s deep richness.

We all bring a lot to the table.

And today we’ll all eat a lot at the table too.

It’s an honor to sit around a table with people we are thankful for.

And it’s an honor to be the type of person that others are thankful for.

What Good Compromise Isn't

Compromise is not so that everyone can feel like they had a say, or an equal say. An equal say doesn’t necessarily mean compromise was put to good use.

Compromise is utilized because the people involved think that the other people on the team just might have good intuition too.

Compromise is because you trust the team you’re working with and are agreed on where you want to go. And because of that, everyone (probably) gives up some of their own personal stamp on the project for the sake of the project going in the desired direction.

Compromise says ‘I may not totally agree here but I trust that we’re here for each other and are going in the same direction, so lets go’.

Hit The Ground Running

Lots of people say they’re going to do that in the new year.

But why wait thirty seven more days?

You can choose to wait till the new year and you can also choose to hit the ground running tomorrow.

But if you choose to wait, don’t blame the calendar. The calendar has nothing to do with it.

Secret Little Doors

We love little secret doors, hidden compartments, camouflaged surprises.

In houses, cars, libraries, backpacks, wallets, jeans, castles, hotels.

What we love most is that it’s secret. And by secret I mean not that it’s a complete secret and absolutely no one knows (that wouldn’t be any fun), but rather that it’s hard to find, it’s special and the average passerby is going to miss it completely.

In our desperate desire for quick attention, the second we come up with a secret door idea to build into our thing we say “if it’s that great of an idea then why are we hiding it, we should put it front and center”.

But a secret door that leads to a secret room is just a door and a room if it isn’t secret.
