Regularly Scheduled Playlist

First Monday of the month, new Hum Love playlist up on Spotify and Apple

Keeping a playlist and adding to it regularly is a great way to let your circles know what styles and production and vibes you’re into lately.

And more than that, it’s fun to find and share new music. It may be difficult to remember but finding and sharing new music is a big reason why most of us got into this whole thing to begin with.

Doing a regularly scheduled playlist has so many benefits. And it’s free. And if you make one or ten and decide you don’t like them and want a do-over, that’s free too.

Listen to music. Share music.

Work Time

Sometimes it’s simply work time. No frills or thrills, just a stretch of in the bunker, thankless work.

You will emerge and you will be better for it but you’re never going to get the credit or accolades that that amount of work deserves. No one does. Then again, you’re not doing it for the credit. You’re doing it because it’s work time and you’re willing to pay a price for the result that comes from it.

It isn’t forever but it might be for now.

So if that’s you, keep going.

When You Are The Lead Singer

When you are the lead singer, people look to you for the vibe…the vibe of the rehearsal, of the load in, of the gig, of the tour, of the meeting, of the interview.

You can try to skirt it and say, ‘I didn’t ask for that responsibility’…but it doesn’t matter. It comes with the territory.

The lead singer is the center of attention even if (or when) they are not the center of the socializing.

People look to the lead singer for how this thing is gonna go. The lead singer holds sway.

People hope and expect the lead singer will be, in fact, a leader.

So when you are the lead singer step up and lead. Wear the crown and take care of responsibility of the position.

Toddler Toys

If you want a toddler to play with a toy, don’t tell them to play with the toy, just start playing with the toy.

Action has a special kind of magnetism.

Hard Work. Two Types.

A couple types of hard work to highlight along with the associated apprehensions…

The hard work where you know what needs to happen in order to get to the destination and you just don’t know if you want to sign up for that ride. Running a marathon, rebuilding a car, becoming a doctor, going on another world tour. Hard work. Still lots of variables. But there’s a path. You know if you push through and do the hard work you’re going to get there. So the question is simply, are you going to do it or not?

Then there’s the hard work of deciding to do the hard work with no clear path to the result. Knowing you’re going to have to put in a tremendous amount of time and effort in order to figure out if it worked. Cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time, starting a bakery, launching an app, building a band. Are you willing to do the hard work even if it doesn’t work out? And if it doesn’t work out are you still glad you did the work?

Best Case Scenario

It’s important to remember that it’s a possibility…which is easy to forget when a string of things haven’t gone the way you want them to.

It’s easy to think that the best case scenario is simply a wish that never comes true.

But it’s not a wish, it’s a possibility. And while it doesn’t always happen, it might this time, it’s possible.
