Your Chiropractor

“Oh you gotta go to my chiropractor, he’s the best.”

Everyone says this. Everyones chiropractor is the best.

Of course he’s the best! Because it pays to think that the person crack-a-lackin your body is the best.

And even if it’s not true (which it probably isn’t), as long as the job is getting done properly it doesn’t do much harm to think you’ve got the best chiropractor in town.

But then the question is…what has to be true in order to get you to switch chiropractors…to switch to the new one in town?

Strengths And Desires

Strengths don’t always line up with desires.

Pursing a path in reference to your strengths has a higher chance of success than only following the path of desires.

Sometimes strengths and desires do line up. Sometimes it takes a while. You develop a new strength. What you desire changes to meet your strengths.

But also, sometimes it means we need to let certain desires fade because our strengths didn’t end up being the right fit and it’s time to move on.

Better Tuesday...

…than never. Here’s the new Hum Love playlist on Spotify and Apple.

Every once in a while something pops up and instantly jumps atop the priority list.

That priority list is a good thing and keeps us centered and moving forward in our day to day living. But when it’s interrupted by a new valid number one, it’s best to just let it be number one…while all the other stuff slips a spot.

Letting all the other stuff slip a spot is simply what’s needed at the moment.

It shows great character to keep to our priorities and also great character to know when to change them up…for a short time or for good.

A Maybe and Two What Ifs

I hear a lot of artists say they don’t like doing social media but they do it because they have to.

A Maybe and Two What Ifs…

Maybe you actually like playing the traditional social media game (wanting more of everything) but are embarrassed to say so…and would rather complain than come up with something better.

What if you used social media for something on purpose, something other than more likes and follows? That would probably cause you to like it more.

What if you didn’t do social media (and didn’t hire someone do it for you)? What if you just said screw it and found a different way to do interact with your online audience?

Doing something you don’t like because you have to isn’t a great way to put your best foot forward on a regular basis for people you hope will hop aboard (and stay on) your train.

Two Paths

Looking for, coming up with and entertaining ideas that will work vs. ideas that may work sets you on two very different paths.

Long Emails

Shorter emails, sent consistently, sustain connection much better than one long one every few months.

Packing an email with links and offers and stories and updates and discount codes is too much…all under the idea ‘we’ll make up for our lack of consistent communication by sending out an email that includes everything because it’s really important that they know everything’.

The solution is to send more emails…to people who look forward to getting emails from you…and then don’t overwhelm them with long paragraphs and links.

You don’t usually enjoy getting long emails either.

Email others the way you’d like to be emailed.

»» I subscribe to quite a few artist email lists just to see how they utilize their email list. Most don’t do a great job…even though they have an understanding that the people on their email list are their most dedicated fans.

»» If you’re going to go with a long email format, be consistent and make it worth it.
