The more times your friends tell you about an artist that you still haven’t listened to, the more expensive it is for you to keep not checking out that artist.
By not checking it out you’re out of the loop. But not just any loop. The loop that you subscribe to. The loop that you deeply identify with. The loop of people whose opinions you care about. The loop you have fun with and want to stay in and be connected to.
So not checking out the artist that the people in your loop keep telling you about is costing you something very substantial.
This is why it’s worth doing something, risking something that’s worth talking about. I don’t mean metaphorically, but actually worth bringing up in conversation.
Then the more it gets brought up, the good peer pressure kicks in and the dominos start to fall.
Become an artist where it’s expensive for people in certain loops to keep ignoring you.
***This happens the more famous you get. And also happens the more you know what type of loops like talking about you.
