If you shoot it perfectly but it doesn’t go in you don’t get any points.
If you shoot a terrible shot and it does go in you get all the points.
Similarly…
If you play the song perfectly but you don’t attract any fans, you won’t get to play the song for long.
If you play the song horribly but attract a crowd, you’re going to get paid to play it again and again.

Most games we choose aren’t fair games.
Whether it’s basketball or music, play in a way that you can continue to be proud.
