The Beatles' Keyboard Player...
…they didn’t have one.
They could have had any keys player in the world. The best in the world. And it probably would have helped in a lot of ways.
But they didn’t add a keys player.
It was more special to not add a keys player than to add one.
The rare synergy that sometimes happens within a small group of people is invaluable, worth protecting and taking care of.
That Number Right Below The Picture...
There are entire teams, groups in boardrooms, specialists sought out, meeting after meeting, all dedicated to making that number go up.
That’s not your situation yet?
Ok try this…
There are hours of frantic consideration, anxious energy, endless self evaluation and edit after edit, all dedicated to making that number go up.
But why is having a bigger number important? What are you going to do with it? What is it a measurement of?
If you’re going to play the game of always needing that number go up (eventually to infinity), good luck.
Feeling Like An Insider
I’ve never heard anyone say, “I’ve always felt like an insider” (but have of course heard the opposite countless times)
It doesn’t mean there isn’t an inside. After all, an outside can only exist if there’s an inside. And it doesn’t mean you’ve never been an insider.
But often times when you are an insider you instantly don’t feel like you’ve earned your spot. And that feeling of unworthiness makes you feel like an outsider.
So insiders feel like outsiders.
And outsiders feel like outsiders.
Simply…We all want to experience connection with the people and world around us. It’s not a matter of feeling like an insider or outsider, it’s a matter of becoming known.
There's Going To Be More Hits
Leftovers
The thought is ‘they were great yesterday so lets do it again today and get the same tasty result’.
Nothing lasts forever. The things that were good yesterday have a shelf life. Just because they were good yesterday doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll be good tomorrow or next week.
Whether its turkey or tactics and strategies, chances are they’re going to go bad eventually.
Eventually you have to make new again.
